The essential qualities of a true church are members who are faithful in their attendance and faithful in their commitment to leadership and the local assembly. As in Jesus’ Parable of the Wheat and Tares, Matthew 13:24-30, God will allow the wheat and tares to grow up together until the reaping. The scripture states”Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”As the Word of God clearly declares,"let the wheat and the tares both grow up together and the Lord will send an angel to separate them". The wheat represents the true church, and the tares the false church.
When we begin to speak on the nature of the True Church, we have to ask ourselves, what's it made of and how does it work? The True Church is a field of members like a wheat field, with all the tares taken out. These members move in the area that they were created to move in by God (Revelation 2:4), and bring the tithe and the offering into the storehouse ( Malachi 3:8, Hebrews 7), and are faithful in attendance (Hebrews 10:24-25).
The enemy tries to plant tares in the field through deception, by attacking the the saint. He tries to scatter the saints, through lack of attendance. Negative, bad or poor attendance is the beginning of backsliding and unless you hear, listen and obey the Holy Spirit, you will reach that destination (Matthew 12:30).
Any church that does not bear the qualities of the "True Church", should be marked a false church. The True Church may have some that slip and some that stumble, but their hearts are in a place with the Lord that he can keep them from falling. (Luke 21:34-36). We at River of Life believe that the time has come when The Lord is sending his angelsl to separate the wheat and the tares, not only in our church, but in others’ as well.
2013 will be a year of exposure and gross darkness covering the earth, but great grace and light for the true Church. We know that light expels darkness and exposes hidden and secret things. It is an imperative for God’s people to be filled and stay filled with His Spirit. The false church will be exposed, lies and liars will be exposed, and the hidden treasure that darkness has claimed will be exposed.
Many seemingly overdue prophecies will be fulfilled - this includes personal, family, generational, corporate (body), city and state, national and even global prophecies that was spoken years, decades, centuries, and even millennia ago will start to come forth even in January of 2013.
We are under siege and we don’t even realize it. 1 Peter 4:7 admonishes us to “be sober.” We must take time to pay attention. We are giving our attention to things that don’t matter. When we received Christ, we received Him in His fullness. Jesus is the center of our Joy, and should be our focus. We become bound when our focus is not centered on Christ, and building His Kingdom.
Joy is supposed to be full. It’s a fruit of the spirit. It is a powerful, spiritual force. It’s divine energy. With joy we are able to persevere. When we have joy we can endure. We receive joy when we are a doer of the word. We need to pray in the Holy Ghost. Joy keeps us from burning out because we know what’s on the other side. We must rise up and stand in this evil day. We must take time to show up for the moment of our lives.
Many things we give ourselves to have absolutely no eternal value. We must not give ourselves to things that are passing away. This life is but a vapor that appears for a moment and then its gone. We must learn what’s important. We will never have true joy until we are givers. The very essence of joy is giving. Jesus commanded us to love one another that our joy may be full. This means that our joy can be half full or empty. If we do not love one another, it is impossible to have joy. Joy is the divine strength of God. This is why the Word says the joy of the Lord is our strength. Joy is like oil that is poured out. Jesus was anointed with the oil of joy. There is an anointing of joy, but joy is a fruit of the Spirit that we bear. We produce joy by being a doer of the Word. The Holy Spirit working in your spirit produces joy. We stir ourselves up in joy when we pray in the Holy Ghost and when we love the way we were commanded to love.
Have you heard the heavenly call? Or for some of us, do you still hear the heavenly call? Today, if you hear His voice…” This very day, God speaks to us through His Word! Today lends a sense of urgency to this message. It says, “Don’t put off obedience to a more convenient time. Now is the day of salvation! Now is the time God is speaking to you. Don’t ignore Him! You may not get another opportunity!”
As Christians, we once heard the voice from heaven. However lately, we were struck with a spiritual deafness. The sound of lack resounded louder than the voice of Jesus. The Word tells us in Hebrews 3:7-11:
7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He is us, because He has given us of His Spirit
We believe that God is the answer to our search for truth and significance in life. The Bible says that God has revealed Himself to man when he came to earth in a human body. His name is Jesus and he desires to reconcile man to God.
